Woman Nude: A Passionate Journey Through My Bare Soul

Naked Woman is a tribute to the wonderful anecdotes of Cuba and her childhood that "Mami Nena" used to tell, as her grandchildren called my mother. She was able to read this story before she left to stay forever in our memory and our hearts. Her comment was, "You have such a good memory, daughter!" That's when I knew I had been faithful to her memories and fantasies. I also pay tribute to my "Grandma Mima" who sat on the edge of my bed to tell me stories of ancient times, of her father's white horse, of her mother's mischief, of her relatives who had been heroes of the Independence and especially of the mansion at Malecón 8, where her husband took her to live, becoming part of the legend of Doña Constanza, the matriarch of the Erdmanns. I acknowledge the Gutiérrezs, the haughty, intelligent, and wise Mamabella who would weave beautiful dresses for me while teaching me to pray, listening to the news on the radio and discussing politics and a world where atomic bombs were being dropped.

In this book, I bare my soul; I tell -without reservation- my loves and disappointments, my adventures in learning how to live and sometimes survive. I share proud tears and deep joys.
